PHILHARMONIA QUARTETT BERLIN

Celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2015 since its foundation in 1985, the Philharmonia Quartett Berlin has established itself as a world-renowned string quartet, be it in Europe, the US, Japan, or South America. This is the quartet’s 8th concert for us.

Until the sudden death of the cellist, Jan Diesselhorst in February of 2009, the quartet played in their original cast: Daniel Stabrawa, violin; Christian Stadelmann, violin; Neithard Resa, viola. With cellist Dietmar Schwalke, the quartet has been able to preserve their characteristic homogeneous sound and harmonious interplay and continue to perform worldwide. Their two recent recordings include Beethoven’s Rasumovsky quartets Op.59 (2014) and the three Brahms quartets (2015).
