Pursuing Potential with Music TORONTO

For over five decades, Music Toronto has been a beacon for world-class chamber ensembles and artists, enchanting audiences at the Jane Mallett Theatre. Recognized as one of Canada's premier chamber music presenters, Music Toronto is entering a significant period of revitalization and evolution.

As we embark on this journey, our focus extends beyond our renowned concert series. We are committed to exploring innovative ways to harness the power and beauty of chamber music to engage and enrich audiences of all ages, both in traditional concert halls and within the broader community.

To achieve this, we are organizing our efforts around three pillars: the Concert Series, Community Engagement and Education (CEE), and Artist Development. These pillars will allow us to celebrate the rich tradition of chamber music, create impactful live music experiences for diverse audiences, and support the next generation of artists shaping the genre's future.

Our 2024-25 Concert Series will feature a dynamic lineup, including celebrated artists and emerging talents at the cusp of their international careers.

In the realm of Community Engagement and Education, our artists will connect with children through school concerts and engage with seniors in partnership with Concerts in Care. Additionally, our Listen Up! elementary school program, produced with Gryphon Trio and Chamber Factory, will immerse children in a year-long chamber music/words/art creation program. We are also thrilled to offer Rob Kapilow’s engaging What Makes it Great? presentations to further expand our audience.

Our commitment to Artist Development includes Master Classes at UofT and RCM, as well as mentorship workshops for emerging artists focused on concert program curation and school program development. The COSE series will provide a platform for early career artists to showcase their talent and engage new audiences.

To realize our vision, we need increased support from our community of supporters and donors. Through our Pursuing Potential campaign, we aim to raise $60,000 by the end of June and an additional $140,000 by the end of the calendar year. Thanks to a generous $100,000 matching gift from the Temerty Foundation, all donor pledges will be doubled, propelling us towards our goal at twice the speed.

You can help us in several ways:

  • Make a one-time donation that is matched by the Temerty matching gift.

  • Become a monthly donor (annual total matched for the first year).

  • Make a multi-year pledge (first year matched by the Temerty matching gift).

  • Increase your current donation to amplify the doubling impact.

  • Include Music Toronto in your estate planning.

I invite you to join us on this transformative journey as we renew Music Toronto and embark on a new chapter for this esteemed chamber music organization. Your support will play a vital role in our transformation and help us realize our vision for the future.
